china national technical imp & exp corp and dhaka power distribution co, or the dpdc, signed an epc contract for the 11kv distribution network project in dhaka, bangladesh’s capital on june 20. via the video link, this signing was witnessed remotely by nasrul hamid, the minister of power, energy and mineral resources of bangladesh.
with the fund providing by the bangladeshi government, the project is located in the urban area of dhaka and its surrounding area. the scope of work includes the construction and transformation of 347 kilometers of underground cables and 11kv power distribution network systems owned by the dpdc.
as the largest distribution network project invested by the bangladeshi government so far, the project has attracted great attention from government departments at all levels in bangladesh. the distribution network is a direct link between the power supply system and the users. it is an important part of the nation’s urban power grid.
after the completion of this project, it will help push the comprehensive upgrade of the power distribution network system in dhaka and its surrounding area, and provide a strong impetus to serve local economic and social development.
